I'm Back!

Hello again!

If you hadn't already guessed from the title, I'm back in the blogging world!

First of all, I feel as if I should apologise. I feel really guilty for not writing a blog post since the 22nd of October 2014 (ooops). However, life has been a bit of a whirl at the minute.

As some of you may know, I'm in my second year studying Interactive Multimedia Design at university. I had a lot more spare time in first year compared to this year and I didn't realise how difficult and demanding this year would be. Between staying up to date with my modules, creating my own portfolio, doing freelance work, trying to find a placement for third year and having somewhat of a social life, I haven't had much time to blog by the time I get home. Usually I wake up at half 5 in the morning and I'm not in bed until half 12 at night, so I think trying to blog on top of that would just be too much. I feel it is a real shame though, as I do love blogging and felt sad that I couldn't be doing something that I love every day. I also have to upmost respect for people that can balance an education, a job, a blog and a social life.

I then read a blog post by the lovely Mille-Grace on "Should we apologise for taking a blogging break?" (which can be read here) and I didn't feel quite so bad anymore. It's perfectly acceptable for everyone to take a break from something at times, whether they love it or not. It wasn't out of laziness or being un-inspired, I just had bigger commitment that determines my future, so I couldn't push that to the side, no matter how much I wanted to. Coding makes my head hurt.

I'm currently on my Easter holidays, so I'm going to try and use my time to balance my university work, other work and my blog as much as possible, which will probably be easier said than done. After my Easter holidays, I return to university for another three weeks, then after that I'm undecided about what to do, as I don't know if I will have placement or not. Either way, I'm going to try and stay a little more consistent with my blog and if I'm not, there will be a valid reason for it. I'm always on Twitter and Instagram anyway!

There's still so much I have to do in relation to university and work, but hopefully it all works out. I want to re-design my blog as well so that it matches with my portfolio, which I'll be including on here to. In the not too distant future, there will also be a shop available because it's something I've been working on for one of my design modules at university, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Well, only if you want to!

Finally, to all my readers and fellow bloggers, thank you for staying with me through my (very lengthy) absence. I hope you've all been doing well and hope to hear from you on my future posts!

Much love,

  1. No need to feel guilty, the whole point of a blog is it's fun and you enjoy doing it. Sometimes a break is the healthy option to take. :)

    1. Thank you Isabel! I certainly feel better for taking a break. :)
